Course Overview
Employers are legally required to prepare an Emergency Plan which outlines how the workplace will be evacuated in the event of a fire outbreak.
Fire Wardens have designated the responsibility of executing this plan in an emergency situation. This half-day course aims to ensure that Fire Wardens are aware of their responsibilities including arranging fire drills effectively. It also details the steps involved in developing an Emergency Plan which is specific to your own work environment.
Course Objectives
On completion of this course participants will:
- Understand their duties as Fire Wardens.
- Be able to describe and understand the chemistry of fire.
- Identify fire hazards in the workplace.
- Assist in the fire risk assessment process.
- Be able to manage and control fire evacuation procedures and drills.
- Be able to select and use the appropriate fire fighting equipment to deal with an undeveloped fire.
- Ensure that fire equipment is routinely inspected and maintained.

Certification
Successful participants receive an Advanta Safety Fire Warden Training Certificate which is valid for 2 years.
