Programme Structure:
This course is virtually delivered via Zoom Virtual Classroom.
Programme Aim:
This course is designed to elevate the skills of data analysts already familiar with the basics of Power BI Desktop. Aimed at those who want to deepen their ability to create sophisticated and interactive visual reports, this course builds on foundational knowledge to enhance data analysis and reporting capabilities. Participants will delve deeper into the functionalities of Power BI Desktop, focusing on more complex data integration, advanced data modelling, and richer visual representation. Participants will learn to manipulate and model data more effectively, creating relationships that reflect complex business realities and utilising DAX functions to perform nuanced calculations.
Programme Objectives:
At the end of this course, participants will be able to create visually pleasing and informative reports using the Power BI Desktop. Load raw data into the Power Query and Transform the same data into a Visual Report in Power BI. This course will cover a selection of Visuals such as composition, comparison and correlation, along with Cards, Slicers and Tables. Run Data Cleansing and apply common DAX formula covering some basic calculations and functions.
Prerequisites:
- Essential Excel Proficiency: Participants should have a solid working knowledge of Excel, including familiarity with its common functions and data management capabilities.
- Foundational Data Analysis Skills: A basic understanding of data analysis principles, such as sorting, filtering, and simple calculations, is advised.
- Relational Database Concepts: Knowledge of relational database concepts, such as tables, relationships, and primary/foreign keys, will be highly beneficial.
- Basic Visual Data Representation: While no prior experience in creating charts is required, an understanding of the importance of visual data representation will help in grasping more complex visualisation concepts taught in the course.
- Prior Experience with Power BI: It is recommended that participants have some basic exposure to Power BI or have completed the introductory course on Power BI Desktop Level 1. This foundation will enable a smoother transition into intermediate topics.
